The future

Even though Bear pilot currently still is trying to finish five songs and a video and really should focus on doing just that - a recording of yet another song started last week.

Tobias Dahlström drummed. 18 tracks recorded. For a short while we thought the song could contain only drums. But then we recorded bass aswell.

To hell

Me and David started recording a new song yesterday. Some weeks ago we collected an '82 model Yamaha organ for free and took the time to carry it back to the studio. Now it finally payed off. It sounds amazing and we recorded drums and bass from it. Next up is a RS-202 string synthesizer.

Arvid

The summer came and went. The award winning swedish synth musician Arvid made a remix of the song "Tears". Listen to it here!

And when you're done with that and want more of Arvid, listen to his own stuff.

Two new Bear pilot songs are ready (almost, any day now) and a video is in the making. People playing bingo in a very swedish environment.

Summer

Ah, summer. Lovely!

Bear pilot is moving in slow motion but these are some things to look forward to that's coming soon:

- a video of people playing bingo
- some new songs (3-5)

yup. What more could anyone want?

My brain is a dust collector

Bear pilot song number five is ready. Take a listen at myspace or at the Bear pilot homepage.

Guest musicians:
Anna Modin - flute (Vapnet)
David Nygård - synths and choir (Laakso)
Tobias Dahlström - drums (Lacrosse)

Tjobb

Tobias who drums on almost every Bear pilot song has made a remix of the song Different page. Listen to it here!

Nice work, Tjobb! And he's also got some songs of his own. Check them out here.

Vätö

Been away for the weekend. Helena took a picture of falling cones (above) and I recorded the sound of rain. Yes, Bear pilot is turning out to be nature music.

By the way, is there anyone out there who knows how to play castanets?

fredag 21 maj 2010

The only thing left is the Jesusplinkare

It's been two busy days for Bear pilot. Mixing with Tobias, wednesday, and recording a lot of new stuff with David, thursday. We added trumpet, bear-choir, percussion (including banging on a watercontainer for the sauna) and a badly pitched guitar. The western song is almost ready now. The only thing left is vocals and a jesusplinkare (a really old guitar).

fredag 14 maj 2010

David the drummer

So, me and David recorded some more stuff to the new western song. Above you can see David drumming away. Sounds that make you think of a whiplash or a gun firing.

onsdag 5 maj 2010

What's this?

I found this in the corridors where I work. What is it? I know it's some kind of food. But what is it made of? Potato? Custard? Egg?

Monday night. Bear pilot recorded some more hoof sounding stuff. David played keyboard bass and some kind of 80's strings keyboard. This song is really an unholy alliance of western and the 80's. It's gonna be great.

And yesterday I played around with drum recordings from Tobias. So things are moving. In slow motion as usual.

Get your hopes up

Bear pilot went to Eksjö this weekend and met up with two of the members of the Gothenburg-based band "Get your hopes up". We talked about recording a new BP song together but it all fell apart. But who knows? Maybe in the future?

lördag 24 april 2010

Wait!

New song! I don't want to blow the surprise but it's kind of a western song. You know, a pop song that sounds like Clint Eastwood in the 70's.

Tobias played some beautiful drums that sounded like hoofs and added some 80's fills. Henrik turned the vibrato on the amp way up and then proceeded to play some gunslinger solo stuff. David just overlooked the whole process and will hopefully soon record keyboard, whistling, trumpet, choir and almost everything else as usual.

TBY

Ok, now the newest Bear pilot song (The bravest year) is up on the Bear pilot homepage and the Bear pilot myspace. Oh, the choices. Where should you listen to it first?

måndag 12 april 2010

The bravest year

Bear pilot just finished their fourth song; "The bravest year". And you can listen to it at the music blog Swedesplease! Please do!

The song features a lot of members of the swedish pop band Lacrosse (Tobias Henriksson, Robert Arlinder & Henrik Johansson) and also David Nygård from Laakso. Thank you guys!

tisdag 6 april 2010

Torpedo

Wow! They have Torpedo at the swedish Systembolaget. A treat for every beer-thirsty person out there (well, in Sweden anyway).

And by the way. The song "The bravest year" is kind of finished. It's mixed. It's mastered. Now, anyday now, it will be presented here for your listening pleasure.

söndag 4 april 2010

Upcoming

It's easter. Happy easter. A good time to look ahead. Right now Bear pilot is mixing two songs: "The bravest year" and "My brain is a dust collector". There's talk of a video being released for "New year, same problems" but I guess it will take some time before it appears. And there's also a new remix coming your way, hopefully, this month. Ok, take care, Bear pilot.

By the way. The picture of the dog above is from the Bear pilot mixing studio. It's good company.

Lacrosse in Spain

A break in recording Bear pilot stuff. A nice thing with playing in the band Lacrosse is that you get to go to Spain. Two wonderful shows, in Sevilla and Madrid, and also three acoustic songs on radio tres. We had a flamencodancer on stage in Madrid and Filip Löfström treated us both in Sevilla and Madrid with his pretty dance moves. Another fine moment was when our promoter Roberto came up on stage dressed as superman (with a backstage towel hanging from his shirt) singing Hannah Montana and throwing muffins to the crowd...

Lists

Bear pilot is working on quite a few songs. To keep everything under control there's now sheets of notes and to-do-lists up on the wall. It probably took longer time making the lists than the amount of time we will actually look at the them. But they're a nice addition to the white boring walls. Always something.

fredag 19 mars 2010

Blås på för fan!

David played trombone and trumpet on the song "You can't reason with weather (and you're a storm)" yesterday. Right now that song got toy piano - Jerry Lee Lewis-style, brass, guitars that sound like they have been played by a two year old and bass played by a three year old. It's really a chaotic song. But nice drums.

torsdag 18 mars 2010

Invisible

Tuesday night. Me and some of the other members of the swedish pop band Lacrosse recorded the foundation for a new Bear pilot song called "Invisible". Henrik came up with a great guitar for the verse which Rickard dubbed and improvised around. And Tobias was playing his drum pad. They came up with loads of great stuff for the song and it sounds great. Almost done in fact. Just have to add the vocals... Thanks guys!

måndag 15 mars 2010

Mix

The walls close to the studio, actually the bathroom, seems to be caving in. There's a big rift in one of the walls and the other one makes a strange sound when you touch it.

I was supposed to do a lot of mixing this weekend but this wall bizniz really made me worried so I didn't get a lot of things done. I'm only halfway through the song "The bravest year". But its a start anyway...

tisdag 9 mars 2010

Anna

Have you ever wondered what it looks like when Bear pilot record their songs? Well, look at the picture above. David is on the floor "producing" music and Anna (from Vapnet) is playing the flute. Magic!

söndag 7 mars 2010

Anders

Today Bear pilot released the remix files for the song New year, same problems. And first out with a great hypnotic remix version of the song is experimental musician Anders Dahl. If you listen close you can hear parts from all of the three songs currently released by Bear pilot.

Listen to the remix here.

torsdag 25 februari 2010

David

Snowy streets can't stop Bear pilot. Wednesday night at the bunker in Hammarbyhamnen in Stockholm. Fantastic David was singing, playing keyboards and a toy piano.

Songs

One person asked when the song "Dust collector" will be ready. Here is the answer:

The song "Dust collector" is on it's way. There is still a few crucial details that needs to be added to it: vocals, flute and backing vocals.

The song "The bravest year" is almost finished. It just need vocals.

The song "You can't reason with weather (and you're a storm)" is halfway there. No wait, even less. There's too much things lacking to even mentioning them.

Bear pilot are also currently working on about 3-6 extra songs depending on who you ask.

Take care, BP.

Dust collector, part 2

I listened to my girlfriend and now the song is back in it's original tempo. She was right, as usual. But she can't stop me from putting a flute as the key element in the song. It will be great!

torsdag 11 februari 2010

Dust collector

We celebrated Davids new job with easybeer and hamburgers. And also by removing all drums on the song Dust collector and slowing it down from 114 to 106 bpm. And then we added percussion and an untuned guitar.

When I got home my girlfriend almost cried and said that we had destroyed the song. And she hadn't even heard what we had recorded.

måndag 8 februari 2010

Bear pilots been away for a week and all we got was a lousy photo

At work again. Been away to Spain with Lacrosse and then I went to the north of Sweden. Skiing, beers and some work but no time for Bear pilot. But it wasn't a complete waste of time. I've managed to take a new press photo. It will show up later this evening on the Bear pilot homepage.

I'm meeting up with David on wednesday and we'll probably try some bass keyboard recording on the song "Dust collector". But you never know. There's always that odd chance that we'll record choir again...

tisdag 2 februari 2010

Crash boom bang!

Bedroom pop!

For you who understand spanish (or know the way to google translate) here's a blogg from Chile.

Good stuff!

Friend with the devil

Very few know about this blog. For good reason. There's not much to read and there's no pictures. There's no juicy gossip and no funny stories.

It's just a complement to the musical side of Bear pilot. And as The Devil states in his post: not many people know about that side either.

torsdag 21 januari 2010

A trio?

Does Bear pilot sound like Hefner and Weezer? Absolute noise thinks so and maybe he's right. But claiming that Bear pilot is a trio is just pushing it. Anyway, read the nice words from France here!

onsdag 20 januari 2010

Swedesplease!

Swedesplease wrote something nice about BP! Read it here.

tisdag 19 januari 2010

Hey choir!

Yesterday, me and David, went down to Hammarbyhamnen to work on some songs and ended up with 16 tracks of choir recordings. Unexpected but nice.

torsdag 14 januari 2010

The bravest year

Bear pilot is moving in slow motion. The song "The bravest year" has been next in line for completion for quite some time now. It's just vocals and then mixing and mastering. Maybe some backing vocals. So expect to hear it in about 7-8 months...

onsdag 13 januari 2010

Sunset Rubdown

Listening a lot to this great song right now: Apollo And The Buffalo And Anna Anna Anna Oh! - Sunset Rubdown.

tisdag 12 januari 2010

A long song?

I was just thinking. Maybe i should mix the songs Get love and Break up and make them into one really long song. They are basically built on the same chords. The title of the song could be: Get love and break up.

Something to think about.

A reminder

Just a reminder, a note to myself. Songs i'm currently working on:

The bravest year (some instruments left and vocals), Dust collector (probably the next song in line for recording), You can't reason with weather (and you're a storm), Little bear pilot, Where your heart is, Get love, Break up.

Remix!

Now, there's a nice new function on www.bearpilot.com. If you check under the music-page you can find remix-files for download. Two songs: Tears and Different page.

They are .zip-packages with 7 or 8 files in each and they're all you need to start making your own remix. Bpm is included and everything. After you're finished you can go ahead and send them to: bearpilotmusic@gmail.com, and they'll be up on the webpage in no time.

Good luck and good night!

---

So far there's one remix up there. It's Jonas Eriksson's remix of the song Tears. Great stuff!

Internet

www.bearpilot.com

A small place on the internet, dedicated to Bear pilot. There's some songs, press photos, a few links to good people and well, not so much more. So the webpage doesn't live up to it's slogan yet: www.bearpilot.com - the reason why internet was invented!

Finally at last

At work. My dayjob is fine and someone has put on a record with some samba jazz lounge in the corner. That's good, usually it's so quiet here.

Anyway, now i've finally, after some months of despair, put up three songs on the internet. They are "Tears", "Different page" and "New year, same problems". Take a listen: www.myspace.com/bearpilot.
